This project is an inquiry into understanding what constitutes the problem of translation. It explicates and characterizes the different issues hidden behind what is simply known as the problem of translation. It further extends into understanding the impact of Christian missionary intervention into Indian languages, specifically Kannada through the translation of Christian literatures. It aims at explaining the vital role the missionary translation has played in the framing of modern Kannada language.
