They also take certain positions about how these texts have played an important role in shaping Indian society today. These claims are the consequences of the methodological approach to understanding Indian texts. In this study, an attempt will be made to show how diverse approaches to study texts have been drawn from various Philological and Hermeneutical understanding of European experience have been used to understand Indian texts. The study will emphasize on demonstration of the impact of such reading Indian texts and their pernicious consequences and developing any understanding of Indian traditions. An attempt will be made to show how many of these methods which are used to study Indian texts are deriving assumptions about the dynamics of European society as though it is the universal story of the entire humanity.
