Meenakshi N. Navarathna holds a master’s in English literature and is completing writing her doctoral thesis from Tumkur University, Tumkur. Her work analyses dominant narratives portraying Bhakti as a social reform movement against caste and untouchability and demonstrates that the writings of Bhakti saints challenge this view, making it hard to frame Bhakti as a "movement." The inquiry seeks to trace the continuity of Bhakti traditions within the broader Aadhyatmic framework in which they are rooted.
