Shivanand Saidapur holds a masters in Sociology. He is currently completing his doctoral thesis from Tumakuru University, Tumkur. His study critiques over a century of sociological literature on Indian villages, which often reproduces European experience about caste system and village life which fail to capture the actual village dynamics. His research aims to develop alternative frameworks and village mapping tools, with the long-term goal of creating a decision support system for village development.
